11/23/15 – Week 2, Day 2 – Max Effort Upper

It is officially Thanksgiving break for me, giving me time to get my log updated. Today’s training session was definitely what I needed after a rough few weeks heading into the short break from classes. I was able to get a video today which really excites me since I have been lacking in that area recently. I am hoping to continue that trend and get some good feedback from my coach and teammates. Today’s session went as follows…

  • Stretch and Warm-Up
  • Close Grip Fat Bar Floor Press
    • Bar x5, 135×5, 185×3, 225×3, 245×3, 265×3, 275×3, 285×3
    • 200×3, 225×3, 255×6
  • Wide Grip Bench Press
    • 205×10, 225×10, 245×8
  • Incline Dumbbell Bench
    • 60×20, 70×15, 75×10
  • Bent Over Row
    • 115×20, 125×20, 135×18, 145×15, 155×10
  • Rope Cable Curls – 3×10
  • JM Press
    • 95×20, 115×20, 125×15, 135×12
  • Weighted Planks – 3×30 seconds

I am very happy with this last set on close grip and I am hoping that hitting the floor press during this cycle is exactly what my bench needs to shoot up once again. For now, I will be hitting dynamic lower work tomorrow, dynamic bench early Thursday morning before crushing some Thanksgiving dinner and time with family. Until next time!
