10/3/15 – Week 2, Day 1 – Legs

Today was one of the best training session I have had in a while. I really felt like I pushed my body to its limits and made improvements both physically and mentally as far as toughness is concerned. The session went as follows…

  • Stretch and Warm-Up
  • Stiff Leg Deadlift
    • 3 Warm-Up sets with 135 and 185lbs
    • 225×8, 275×8, 295×8, 315×8
  • Leg Press
    • 570×10, 660×10, 750×10, 840×10
  • Reverse Lunges – 4×12
  • SSB Box Squat
    • 245×8, 255×8, 275×8, 285×8
  • Leg Curls – 3×20
  • Hanging Leg Raises – 4×10

My body is adjusting to the increase in volume much faster than I thought it would. This makes me very happy because it allows me to go that much harder during my training and really push myself without being limited by my work capacity. At this point, I can feel my cardiovascular endurance being challenged and improving which should pay off greatly when I go back to recovering from powerlifting training.
