3/29/15 – Week 4, Day 1 – ME Lower

After a long end of the week/weekend I have finally been able to update my training log. I know its a major disappointment but I was not able to determine a song of the week for last week and with my brain firing on its last cylinder I have decided to just pick two on this Thursday.

  • Stretch and Warm-Up
  • Sumo Deadlift
    • 135×3, 225×3, 315×3, 405×3, 455×1
    • 295×3, 340×3, 385×7
  • Sumo Deadlift (3 count pause at knee)
    • 275×3, 295×3, 315×3
  • Paused Front Squat
    • 185×8, 205×8, 225×8
  • Pull Throughs
    • 60×20, 70×15, 80×12, 90×10
  • Upper Back Extension
    • 80×12, 100×12, 120×12
  • Ab Pulldowns
    • 70×20, 80×20, 90×15, 100×10

After a long weekend of landscaping and little sleep, today’s training session went as well as it could have. I was unable to improve on my heavy triple set of sumo deadlift but after the beating that my body took yesterday I cannot complain about my performance. One of the struggles involved with being a collegiate powerlifter is dealing with a widely varying schedule and workload from week to week. You can’t let it get to you, some weeks are just going to be tough. I plan on getting back into a better training log post routine this week so bear with me.
